This innovative part-time online program is the first of its kind in Canada, tailored specifically for paramedics. It offers flexible degree completion for college-credentialed professionals, allowing you to continue working while advancing your education.

Though it is not a clinical entry-to-practice pathway, this program offers significant professional growth. The program opens doors to career advancement, whether through promotion within paramedicine, transitioning to a related field, or pursuing graduate studies. You’ll benefit from a diverse, experienced student body that enhances the learning environment, while the curriculum, spanning multiple disciplines, helps you develop transferable skills. The degree values your prior learning and paramedic experience, empowering you to reach new professional heights.

    Admission Requirements

    If you completed a 2-year Paramedic diploma:

    • Paramedic diploma from a Canadian institution 
    • 4U English or equivalent at 60%
    • Successfully completed the Advanced-Emergency Medical Care Assistant (A-EMCA) certificate or Canadian equivalent
    • Worked a minimum of 6,700 hours as a land or air paramedic in a Canadian Paramedic Service Organization or Canadian Emergency Medical Service (EMS) as detailed in an employment letter

    If you completed a 1-year Paramedic diploma:

    • Paramedic diploma from a Canadian institution
    • 4U English or equivalent at 60%
    • Successfully completed the Advanced-Emergency Medical Care Assistant (A-EMCA) certificate or Canadian equivalent
    • Worked a minimum of 6,700 hours as a land or air paramedic in a Canadian Paramedic Service Organization or Canadian Emergency Medical Service (EMS) as detailed in an employment letter
    • One of either: 
    • An Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) or Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) graduate diploma, or
    • A signed and dated Continuing Education & Professional Development Training Form, found in your Laurier Applicant Portal following application
    Test Scores:
    • Canadian Academic English Language Assessment or DuoLingo or Pearson Test of English (Academic) or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration)

    Eligibility Considerations

    • Members of the Canadian Armed Forces: paramedics and med-techs are eligible for direct entry into the program, but should add this experience to your application in the Activities section for consideration.
    • Graduates from some career colleges and/or privately funded paramedic programs may not be eligible for admission into the program.
